We stopped in for lunch on our way home from a camping trip. We were looking for good food and a family owned restaurant. We found it. This place lived up to great reviews it had gotten online for sure. We were greeted by the owner upon entering. The hot bar was explained to us and our plates were fixed and passed to us. There was a pretty big selection and our portions were very generous. Everything tastes home cooked and seasoned perfectly. Even the sweet tea was delicious. The owner stopped by the table to speak to us twice while we were there and the entire was were so friendly. We were stuffed when we left. We will definitely stop by again on our next trip.

Absolutely fabulous! We drove down from Montgomery to have lunch here and it was worth the drive. All the meats are cooked on the grill and the vegetables are seasoned just right. I would give it more than 5 ⭐️ if I could.

We were traveling and had been on the road all day. We dont eat fast food so we always look for small businesses to support. This place had great reviews so we stopped in. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon. The place was busy. The first thing that stuck out to me was how warm it was in the building. One small window air conditioner for the whole dining room. That didnt deter us though. We were told to have a seat so we did. It took awhile for someone to finally ask us if we needed a menu. The lady that handed us the menus was wearing gloves which she never changed the entire time we were there. She went from one task to another without changing gloves. We both wanted chicken since we dont eat pork but they only had enough left for one meal so my husband got what was left with greens, Mac and cheese, baked beans and a corn muffin. I said well I wanted grilled chicken but I guess I'll take a 2 piece dark. She replied you only want 2 pieces? Im not sure they will only make 2 pieces. So I said well just dont worry about it and my hisband could eat his food. She walked to the back and came back out and said they would make it but it would be 15 min. I said ok and my husband ate while we waited so we could get back on the road. I proceeded to pay for the food while we waited. The menu stated a 2 piece dark with 1 side was $6.00. She charged me $8.50. I questioned the charge and she said yeah we haven't updated the menu. I replied well Ill pay for it since the chicken is already cooking but how is it my fault as a cuatomer that you haven't changed the price? That is false advertising. What if I had only had $20 to feed us both and I chose that item to keep our food under that and now you charged me more? Thats not a good way to do your customers. Now let's talk about the quality of the food: BBQ chicken: small wings, meat was dry and seemed old but did have good flavor Mac and cheese: absolutely no flavor and not cheesy. Baked beans: clearly canned pork and beans with sugar. Didn't taste bad but not great. I would like to see some onions and meat in them. Greens: tastes like canned greens with no seasoning. Does have some meat in them though. Fried chicken: the breading has great flavoring. Corn muffin: not edible...was hard. I leave honest reviews and I am hard to please. I want great food and I'll gladly pay for great food and service! Customer service and cleanliness is very important to me. The staff were friendly but unwilling to provide service over menu pricing. We were not impressed with this one...sorry.

Before I envoke this word vomit upon you reader, I must say that this establishment wasn't even OPEN when we pulled up. There was one man, without question he said hello and asked if we wanted to come inside and unlocked the doors. This place is a one of a kind treasure. In true southern fashion this place is soulful, warm, and welcoming. Traveling for hours on end, this restaurant welcomed us, a group of 5 raggedy teens, and sat us. We were served sweet tea, which made my heart- my Texan heart so happy after 3 days of dissapointing iced "sweet" tea in Louisiana. With no extra charge they gave us to go cups and generous refills. The gods blessed this restaurant and their food. Thank you. These people took care of us strangers. True southern hospitality. We didn't even take a picture of the food but- clear plates say wayyy more.

Friendly the moment you walk in the door. We were passing through on a road trip one Sunday. The food was delicious and comforting. We had the fried and baked chicken. The fried chicken was crunchy and delectable. The baked chicken was fall off the bone good and flavorful. My kids adored the Mac n cheese and black eyed peas. The greens with regular cornbread and Mexican cornbread were so good together. We topped it all off with pecan cream pie, it was aaaamazing. Reminded me of butter pecan blue bell ice cream flavor. Can’t wait to go by when we are passing through on next trip through AL!

What a great find on a trip down to Mobile. Amazing food and super friendly staff. Worth the short trip off the interstate. Gumbo some of the best I've ever had.
