We recently visited and were blown away by the incredible views from Arkansas’s highest peak. The scenic drive up was beautiful, and once we reached the top, the peaceful atmosphere, fresh mountain air, and panoramic overlooks were just perfect. Whether you’re hiking, relaxing at the lodge, or simply enjoying a picnic, the surroundings are serene and refreshing. The lodge is lovely — clean, cozy, and welcoming with friendly staff, live music, good coffee, and even pet-friendly areas. Great spot for families with kids too! We spotted some deer and enjoyed the trails that were well-marked and easy to follow. Sunset from the overlook is magical — don’t miss it! Highly recommend this park for a weekend escape into nature. Perfect for hiking, photography, or just finding your peace.

Absolutely beautiful in person. Does anyone deal with anxiety and doing something different? Or do you see that you will have elevation change, and it might trigger your anxiety going up to Arkansas' highest elevation? Don't be. You will do great. From the main street at the bottom to the highest point, it takes you 18 minutes. It is such an easy drive to the top. Depending on what the weather is like that day, take a jacket just in case. When we got to the top, it was really windy and chilly. You could easily spend all day hiking. It's very peaceful and a time to come back to your center. I live 3 hours away. I could come back here every weekend if I could. They have a restaurant that is worth checking out or bringing a picnic. There is a lodge at the top with a gift shop. Friendly staff. Everything is maintained and clean.
