Don't let the outside fool you, the rooms are very spacious! We had a balcony, which made it nice to open the windows without having to worry about anything. The clerk was very nice and full of information. The little store was nice, we bought a shirt and the let us exchange for a different size after we went to room to try it on. Would stay again for sure.

My stay at The Brookdale Lodge and was absolutely enchanted by this historic, beautifully restored gem tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The setting is breathtaking—surrounded by towering redwoods and filled with natural charm. You can really feel the unique history and character of the lodge the moment you step inside.||The room was cozy, clean, and well-appointed with modern touches that didn’t take away from the vintage feel. The bed was super comfortable, and I loved the little details like the rustic wood accents and forest views from the window. I especially loved how every room had its own private balcony. Perfect seating for your morning coffee. ||I plan on returning to visit family again this year and will definitely be staying here again.

We’ve stayed twice before and loved the history attached to the property. More than willing to forgive items that did not operate correctly, but when the staff have zero interest and bad attitude then the gloves are off! Horrible experience. We stayed for 3 nights. It was noisy, bath filthy, coffeemaker did not work. Absolutely zero housekeeping but envelope there to tip. Now please note, they have about 60 rooms, most empty, could they not have gone to one of the empty rooms and brought over a coffee maker. Check sites for costs as we feel we paid way too much and other sites cheaper. This place could be a destination like it was in its hay day. In the last 2 years it’s gone even further downhill. So disappointed. The bed was very hard! The air conditioner needed service as it was desperately loud and didn’t function properly.

So glad we decided to stay up on the mountain opposed to in Santa Cruz. Very reasonable rates, super clean updated room, they even had some live Music going in the parking lot. The owner (Mario I believe) approached us at the venue and asked how everything was. We will be back.

We stumbled upon this location on a long road trip, and what first seemed like just a lucky find between cities at an affordable price quickly became one of the better nights of our trip, and a place we'd like to return to. Chris checked us in at a late hour, was very hospitable and friendly despite the time, and even gave us a wonderful introduction to the history of the lodge. The room was comfortable and everything worked well. The balcony was wonderful. Honestly a beautiful and restful place to wake up; we left feeling refreshed for the next leg of our journey. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to stay and explore more, but the nearby town seemed pretty neat (we just poked around the antique store a bit), and I look forward to coming back again with more time to look around. Thanks yall for a wonderful stay!

Very pleasant stay. |Nice outdoor balcony to read or relax on. |Breakfast available both mornings starting around 8am and it was a very tasty breakfast. Excellent coffee. There is plenty of free parking and an adjoining building with a bar and games v
