My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at On The Beach. We were overwhelmed with the great room, views and especially the staff. Pilar, Mike and all the rest were incredibly friendly and helpful.|The room was even nicer than the pictures and the bed was incredibly comfortable.|The breakfasts were great as were the cookies waiting for us each day. Wine hour was also a treat with delicious wine and the company of the other guests. |A huge "Thank You!" to all the staff that made our stay wonderful.

My wife and I spend a wonderful week here while visiting my sister. From the beginning when Sandy went out of her way to make the handicap room available until we checked out at the crack of dawn with muffins to eat on the airplane, the staff was terrific. The hot breakfasts, beer/wine happy hour and hot cookies in the afternoon are typical of the extras offered. Their attention to details was evident everywhere -- fresh flowers, 24/7 hot beverage bar, rooftop deck with comfy chairs and fit pit, bathrobes in the room, etc. And it's located right in the middle of all the "action" in Cayucos, with many food options and great people and surfer watching. It's a gem!

Great small boutique type hotel, directly across from the ocean & pier. Sweet staff & easy check in. Our room was spacious and super sparkly clean. The daily 'happy hour' wine & beer were enjoyed on the upstairs deck. We loved the fresh cookies hung on our door every afternoon. And the breakfast was delivered to our room was great - yummy quiches varied daily, nice fruit parfait. All in all a lovely stay!

Nice room, beach obstructed, but that was described in advance, so not a surprise. Nice walk out on the pier. Walking distance to many meal opportunities. Nice little breakfast.

This charming B&B was in a perfect location to visit Hearst Castle and wineries. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Daily breakfast was delicious! We listened to the waves crash on shore every night. Very attentive service!

I don’t generally write reviews but I wanted to give my thoughts on our stay at On the Beach B&B. Overall, the room was spacious and appeared clean, however, there were several issues that cropped up during our 4-day family reunion I want to address. First and foremost were the pigeons that seemed to have taken up residence in the wall or ventilation system adjoining 201, and more importantly near my headboard. I don’t mind getting up early, but at 5:00A every morning I was awakened by pigeons (and little pigeons) rustling around or cooing so loudly that I recorded the sounds on audio. I brought this to the attention of staff but nothing had been done (by the time we departed) to mitigate this problem and potential health concerns if the birds were nesting in the ventilation system.|Furthermore, there was a significant amount of pigeon and gull guano not only on my deck railing, but also on the 2nd floor community deck flooring where the outdoor fireplace is located. I was told that birds are a continuing issue for the B&B, but this does not negate the responsibility to keep these areas as clean as possible, even if the area needs to be mopped and disinfected every day.||Next I would like to address the “breakfast”. Now I’m from out of state and I’m not sure if this is the norm for bed and breakfasts’ in California, but after eating quiche (different flavor) and a yogurt parfait everyday for 4 straight days, the meal was no better than a “Holiday Inn” breakfast buffet. If I had to guess, the quiche came from Costco. Nothing tasted like anything was freshly prepared except for the fruit in the yogurt and the bananas, and it was packaged in cardboard containers and plastic cups for service. I was glad I brought some “bathroom helper”.||Our sinks and shower were slow to drain and the room was fairly hot and stuffy, even with the balcony door open. ||Given the issues, appearance, and the quality of the breakfast, I would rate our stay as below average and definitely not worth the money spent on our room. Certainly NOT over $1000 for the room over 4 days. ||I will commend the staff for addressing my noise complaint regarding the occupants of a lower floor room. They were obviously intoxicated, obnoxious, yelling, cursing, jumping over the balcony railing and last but not least, smoking a joint which was blowing up into my room….and that meant I had to close the door in an already hot room. I called the office emergency contact at around 10:15-1030P and the woman responded to my complaint very quickly. Thank you.

Confession: my wife and I live 20 minutes from On The Beach B&B in Cayucos. We think Cayucos is charming, quaint and the last unspoiled beach town on the California Coast. If we can’t afford to live there, why not do a “staycation” and spend a night or two? We chose On the Beach B&B and what a great choice it proved to be.||We travel extensively and our upstairs room, overlooking the beach was one of the nicest rooms we have EVER stayed in. At about 500 square feet it’s just under half the size of our cozy, historic cottage in a nearby town. Our room was so close to the beach we actually had to close the door at night to drown out the loudness of the waves across the street. Our room had a luxurious king bed with ample seating areas, a balcony overlooking the beach, microwave, refrigerator. I’ve stayed in 5-star rooms before and this one was a 4.5, 4 at a minimum. Nothing is scrimped on from the bathrobes hanging in the closet to the high quality bath products. ||There is a happy hour featuring local wine and beer and breakfast was delivered to our door. Cayucos itself is only about 5 blocks long and the hotel is situated at the foot of the Cayucos Pier and walking distance to beach walks, restaurants and a close drive to Morro Bay and Cambria as well as San Luis Obispo. ||Who knew we would find 5-star luxury and service so close to home. We’ll stay again and recommend you do to.

The experience we had at this beach resort was BEYOND disappointing and not at all what we expected. I usually do not write reviews since my husband and I own a business as well but the way we were treated was horrible. We booked this hotel to have a relaxing couple of nights after a long work trip in California. We checked in late and couldn’t wait to have a relaxing night of sleep with the ocean view, it was crazy loud all night outside with people talking and not relaxing at all, we were also written up for a noise complaint and they brought cops to our room, like what!!! Love how there was loud noise all night and then they tell us we were loud, my husband was on a call with a sales guy and they made an assumption we were fighting (we own a business and with a business comes stress) Next, the breakfast was sub par, and the customer service was horrible. They also told us there would be a extra $150 charge for our little dog who is my actual service dog, we even showed them her card and they did not care. I usually never write bad reviews since we also own a business but the way we were treated was beyond horrible and we spent a lot of money on our room, we should have never been treated the way we were! We will for sure never recommend this place to anyone we know.
